I purchased my vehicle from BMW of Sterling. Excellent in purchasing inquiry and agreement on price.
Service department makes me feel like I am one of 1,000,000,000 customers. They are very knowledgeable, but it takes me a month to schedule a service appointment. I have an appointment next week. Ill see how they treat me... |

Even though it's more convinient for me to use Stering for maintenance, I still have my reservations regarding that dealership. I understand that the service department and the Sales department are two different entities, but I don't know if I should or not..

I went to discuss some stuff with BMW of Sterling before too and they were extremely unhelpful. I've decided to hold off for a while and see what the deal is with the coupe as well as the 335i rumors.

I echo the previous posts about Passport - particularly with Joern Esser. I finalized the details of my ED with him this past weekend and as I told my wife - it was an incredibly laid back, pleasant experience.
I initially emailed Arlington, Passport, Sterling, and VOB with what I wanted and asked them to address with pricing each line item for the final out the door (OTD) price. Joern was the only person who responded as requested. Arlington gave me the standard BS line, "Call us immediately, blah, blah, blah" and as for Sterling and VOB, well they never responded to my email let alone repeated phone calls - business must be great. I've told Joern that I will continue to promulgate his name if I know of anyone interested in a new BMW. Nonetheless, I hope Sterling's service center is more responsive and up to par as it is much closer to home.

I actually got a quote from BMW arlington today, but it was way over what i was asking, inflated money factor, and included $275 dealer prep. No reply yet from my email to passport, but it sounds like I should just contact them directly.

Sorry to revive this thread, but I wanted to share. I just ordered a 330 from BMW Sterling. The sales manager, David Lee, was very up front about every fee and every charge on the invoice sheet and the finance sheet. I guess he realized that I had all the info, there was no point f-ing with me and he could only cause bad blood for my next purchase.
We agreed to everything over email, I came in and nothing had changed (he did point out MACO which i had left off my email but was very up front about it). I was in and our in an hour and very impressed. -Mike |

I don't think David Lee was aware of what his sales associate was doing.. I don't blame David Lee. I think David Davila was at fault here.

I am a Costco member. Naturally, Costco recommended to Sterling. Local delivery, the price seems pretty good. $1XXX over Invoice. But when I mentioned about ED, the salesperson said there would be no discount. I said I had another dealer with a good number and willing to come down further. He simply said "to go take deal.". The conversations ended abruptly. Two weeks later, I am working with Joern.

I work with VOB BMW in Rockville and their sales dept. is great if you know the right person and/or they know you. They'll do $800 over invoice on almost anything (obviously not an M5) given a referral. This includes ED, port exchange, in stock, order, and all MACO and training charges are included.
