port? comfort access in the 325?
So I've been looking for a Jet Black 325 with prem, sports, xenon, nav, step, satellite, and comfort access for that past few weeks.
3 or 4 dealers I've spoken with have told me that there's only 1 in existance on the entire west coasst. One dealer has been telling me that its at port in Oxnard (?) whereas another dealer has been telling me that its in a showroom in san diego. So not only am I confused, but I have a couple questions maybe you guys can help me answer: 1. For you west coasters, is Oxnard really a west coast port? And if so, does anyone happen to know the process a car has to go through from port to dealership? The dealer told me that it had arrived at port last wed (june 28th). i can imagine that it takes over a week from port to dealer... 2. How common is comfort access on the 325? My impression is that unless custom built, bmw doesn't make many 325s with comfort access. I've been waiting for almost 3 weeks now. I know its not that long but its definitely a long time if the dealers are keeping you in the dark... Thanks in advance for any input/insight. -hip |

Since I live on the east coast i can only help with the comfort access thing. It seems to be gaining popularity and there are a few that trickle in as non-special order, dealer stock cars. Your combination isn't totally unheard of in this area since it's pretty loaded, but there may be just a few in dealer stock or up for port exchange.

re question 1, I think the norm is 10-14 days. 4th July holiday might slow things down though.
If you're waiting that long, why not custom order.

If you are not in a hurry, I would consider ED.

I think you need to be more reasonable in your expectations. You are looking for a very odd combination of options:
- Black: one color out of eleven - premium package, Xenon lights, Steptronic: all fairly common - sports package: not quite so common on a 325i - nav: probably very uncommon on a 325i - satellite: probably fairly uncommon on a 325i - comfort access: bet that is uncommon on a 325i They only will make about 60,000 - 70,000 325i for the whole model year. At any given time, there are only a few thousand sitting around the whole continental USA, since they are moving pretty well. Now, if you are looking for four uncommon options, each of which may be around on one in ten 325i's, you are down to a one in 10,000 shot. No surprise that it is hard to match exactly. With all that stuff, you are looking at a list price around $43K. Most of the 325i models that are ordered in are not that heavily loaded, since the 325i is the bargain priced model. You be more likely to find a 330i optioned out like that, and listing for closer to $48K. |

Comfort Access is about as popular as Logic7 audio as an option. Not unheard of, but usually only on the higher up models.
There's a Jet black/black on at my dealer with at least xenons, sat radio, L7 audio, auto, PDC, and comfort access. There's another one that's Jet black/beige with at least auto, nav, and comfort access. There's at least a couple more black-colored 325i with nav in stock. PM me if you want specifics since the online inventory doesnt list all options. Jet black isn't unusual in my dealer........17 out of 43 325i list as Jet black.
