Best music for autobahn driving

I'm going in the spring, 2003 530i, loaded, and I am damn excited. What should be the first disc/song queued up in the player? And no flip comments (please) about concentrating on the road signs.

Cheers.

I'd say some good German Polka music.

What do you think Alex?

My personal favorites to get me in the mood for the country are:
(1) Falco "Der Kommissar", "Vienna calling" or "Rock me, Amadeus" CD's
(2) Nena, either "99 Luftballoons" or "Gib gas, ich will spass"
(3) Any CD by Kraftwerk
(4) Any CD from The Scorpions

But if you want to get in touch with your sensitive, softer side you may want to try Abba's Greatest Hits.

Whatever you do, don't listen to the darn German radio stations. While I was over there, there was some stupid song named "The Ketchup Song" sung by some goofy kids I think named "The Ketchup Kids". By the time I left there I was humming the damn song all the time. You know, the type that you just can't get out of your mind. Brain-washing type music. I'm only just now purging my mind of that song.

I'm so traumatized by it, that I don't put ketchup on anything that I used to before, for fear I'll break out humming that tune all over again.

I'm sure by now that they have a follow-up hit, "The mustard song".

Mike, you asked for it!

Not to get all nostalgic on you, but....

aserejé ja deje
dejebe tu dejebe
deseri iowa a mavy
an de bugui an de güidibidi
a sereje ja deje
dejebe tu dejebe
deseri iowa a mavy
an de bugui an de güidibidi

The ketchup song chorus...sung by "Hijas de tomate," a.k.a. the tomato daughters (how original)

So is this song as popular in Indiana as it is in Deutchland?

Forgot to mention...

this was the official song of Oktoberfest this year. Try standing on the tables singing those lyrics after a liter or two....

Oh no! Just when I had gratefully gotten rid of the words and the tune, riffic has to bring it all rushing back.

It's back to my psychiatrist I go.

I understand that there is a dance that goes with it. Fortunately I never saw it, so I can only imagine how bad it is.

Definitely Wagner on the autobahn. Get the compact Ring (or the whole thing) for maximum effect.

or Mozart, for something fluffier.

THOSE WORDS! THOSE WORDS, AGAIN! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

First time I've seen the video ! Although, the ketchup dance is just as bad as I imagined.

My solution is to turn the volume off and just watch the hotties shake their, dare I say it, 'tomato's' : .

After seeing that, all of a sudden I like ketchup again.

I'm cured. No need to see my quack psychiatrist anymore.

Thanks, aty!
