Beautiful 3.0 CS
Ebay item 260012732120 I REALLY like this car. I realize that value is subjective, but any ideas/opinions on what it`s "worth"?

Gorgeous car.
You can't exactly look these on on KBB or Edmunds. It's worth what you're willing to pay. But high teens to low twenties for a car in this condition is probably justified. |

Hmm, it might indeed cost $37k. As TD stated above, there's no market price for those cars. I'd want to know the VIN on that car, just to check the authenticity .

The main thing to consider is that there are VERY few cars of this caliber for sale (assuming it`s for real, and not a "build-up"), and lots of people with deeeep pockets who drool over cars like this one. Barrett-Jackson is probably the ultimate barometer of car-mania.... *really* nice examples (of any highly desireable car) normally sell for 3 to 4 times what their "real-world" value should be.... recently, I saw an immaculate `56 Chevy ragtop that *should* have sold for $35-40K reach $100,000 in bidding.... and a showroom-fresh-looking Hemi-Cuda `vert that absolutely blew everyone away when the bidding topped TWO MILLION dollars.... Desire plays with people`s heads, y`know....

Yeah, in all honesty if I had somewhere to put this baby I would be willing to drop $60k+ on it, however I don't think I would trust myself with a car of that caliber, besides I'd never drive it and I think it's frivolous to pay that much money on something you can't even drive around in.
Alex, its authentic- (in this picture you can faintly read that BMW said it was made in Munich on xx-xx-xxxx and has the serial number xxxxxxxxx) Last edited by BmW745On19's; 08-10-2006 at 05:17 PM. |

Gorgeous car, it's one of the 429 LHD 3.0 Liter cars built from 9/72 through 6/73.
It says in the above posted certificate that it was built in May, 1973, which makes it one of the last LHD models built. More on the car: http://www.coupeking.com/product_mai...product_id=317 However, the info on the link above is wrong, where the guy claims that it has a 'strong' 3.3 Liter engine. The CSL never came with a 3.3 Liter engine. Only the final version of the CSLs were fitted with an enlarged M30 with a capacity of 3,153cc. According to the date of production, this car should have a 3,003cc engine. Only cars that were produced from 7/73 through 10/73 and from 1/74 through 10/75 had the larger engine. PS: all the CSLs were produced at the Karmann Werke in Rhein and not in Munich, as it's written in the certificate
