Our 2007 X5's finally arrived!

Every center in the country received our launch 2007 X5's over the weekend. We've had several test drives and orders already.

Now all the X5's distributed were specified the same way, but in different colors. The 4.8 we received is Black Sapphire over Sand Beige and the 3.0si is Space Gray over Black.

I took some pictures which highlight some features like cornering lights, glove compartment, center console, and wood trims.

I believe you will all be pleased with the new X5. I'd strongly encourage you guys to go check them out and try one out if you have a chance. It's really a phenomenal vehicle.

Here's the Tobacco Leather swatch for those of you who have been curious to know what it looks like:

The top swatch is Nevada Leather and the bottom one is Exclusive Nappa.

I think im going to check one out along with the new 335 tonight while getting a car wash... I hope they have a 4.8

You said they were all built the same way only in different colors. What options are on them? (I want to know what to expect when I take friends in). TIA

I hope this one grows on me - as of right now I'll take the 06

The set ups are pretty standard. Premium Package, Cold Weather Package, Rear Climate Package, Third Row Seats, and Park Distance Control.

Actually, I kinda wished they at least shipped the 4.8i with Navi and Rear Camera.

Thanks for posting the pictures! The new X5 is the breath of fresh air that a mid-model change deserves. BMW succeeded in keeping the best things about the X5, they just made it even better looking! BTW, the glove box looks cool, and where is the first picture on the second post taken. Is that the center console from the passenger side?

Yea, those two packs would've been nice to wow potential new buyers. The really shoulda shipped some sport packaged ones too.........although I guess it's winter in many areas and that wouldn't go well with snow/cold weather.

Actually, the next launch 4.8i which is currently in production will come with sport, tech pkg, and rear entertainment in addition to the other goodies. It'll be Monaco Blue over Sand Beige. It won't come with the 20's though which would make sense going into the winter months.

Yes, the pic is from the passenger side of the console. Heehee, I just noticed this, but I can see my shoes in some of those pics.

I was just posting about that.... what type of shoes are those.... brown oxfords.... brand?

Hmm...my dealer told me the 4.8's weren't being built until January / February.

Apparently he's misinformed.

Bamboo trim is nice. They don'y have any sports package and tech package X5 out there.

They should soon... we have a 3rd "Launch" car in status 155 that is very well equipped... 4.8i with Sport, Prem, Prem Sound, Cold Wthr, Tech, Rear Entertainment and 3rd Seat. I'd imagine other dealers should be getting a similar car soon since we all got the same launch cars.

BMW's choices as to what lines get what colors is very confusing to me. why does the new X5 get Space Grey, yet I can't order an E90 with it? makes no sense. but, those are beatiful vehicles and a few years from now i can see my wife in one!

That Bamboo trim is amazing looking.

Thanks for the pictures, Adrian! They do look different (better) than in all these magazines.

BTW, the new X5 really is a nice one - let's see if BMW is going to offer a new is- or M-version of this SAV. That's going to be a nice ride.....

Only "is" verson, no M-version on X5 and it will be late 2007 or early 2008 with bi-turbo V8. However if you want ///M version SAV then wait for X6 SAC.

A bi-turbo V8 isn't bad, either...
Anyway, we won't exchange the current X5 over the next 3 years - so when it's time to get a replacement, we can still decide to get the "is" or the ///M X6...

Finally, an X5 able to hold TWO cups in the front cup holder at the same time... .


BTW....It's gorgeous and I love the Black on Beige...

Ordered quite a bit of options on a 4.8. Taking delivery on Dec 22 at Performance Center.

I was a little bummed to find out that the Active Ventilated Seat option was removed during production and no one informed me. I might have chosen Tobacco and 20-way Power seats instead.

When I placed my order, the following options were not available until Spring '07
- auto tailgate
- rear sunshade
- Mineral Green exterior paint color
- Hi-Def Radio - This option cannot be combined with Real Time Traffic Information, probably because there is only room for 2 tuners - one dedicated to normal Radio, and the second for either the RTTI FM tuner or the HD Radio tuner.

Any reasons on why they removed that option from you? Are they not going to have that option available at all or just some mistake they made on your order?

Congrats on your new ride!!! Please tell us about the Performance Center experience afterward if you can because I'm also very interested have my X pick up at the Performance Center too.

I will definitely post pics of the Delivery experience. I have not seen any real photos of a Deep Green Metallic, or Monaco Blue - there's nothing but the silvers, blacks and whites.

As far as why the Active Ventilated Seats option was removed - I have no idea why or even how it was possible. My client advisor purports a supply shortage.

Although I decided to still take the vehicle, I will politely inform the personnel that this type of activity is absolutely unacceptable. I will hold them to their high standards and ask for a logical explanation.
