Spring 2007 options?

Hey All,

I put in an order for a 2007 X5 4.8i just before the holidays. I didn't order the automatic tailgate becasue my brochure noted that the feature wasn't available until spring 2007. My X5 hasn't started being built yet, so I'm wondering what's actually considered sping 2007.

Does anyone know if an X5 scheduled for delivery at the end of Feb/early march could get these features which were delayed from initial production?

Hi, I am new here, but maybe I can help. I have been told that the auto tailgate should be available in the USA for April builds, possibly only by special order. This feature will not be available in Canada until 2008 model year.

My dealer called me yesterday and told me the auto tailgate was delayed, and BMW did not specify future date availability (as they do with some delays, e.g., Tobacco leather which has a May production date). He read me the bulletin which didn't sound promising.

Does anyone here have any info on the upcoming M-sport package? Tine, can you tell us a bit more about this? Thanks.

Spring usually means April delivery.......The response for the 4.8 has been very strong,our next available will be March production .Haven't seen anything on the M package yet !

One more question - The facelift 5 series will be using the E70 transmission and shift lever but with an additional feature - the PADDLE SHIFTERS on the steering wheel! Do you know if this (paddle shifters) is this going to be an optional item for the E70 X5 as well? Perhaps in April with the auto tailgate? Thanks.
