DVD NAV wigged out

My DVD NAV in the '06 M3 went weird last night and thought I was 30 miles from where I was and would not reset itself.

I went into the diag menu and there were no satellite signals at all. Conversely my '02 3er with CD NAV had 5 fat signals from the GPS birds in the same location.

I read about "rebooting" the NAV, but that was on the E90 board. Does anybody know how to reboot the E46 DVD NAV?

Thanks.

Well, I found a post on roadfly that said for reboot "take out DVD, turn on ignition, turn off ignition, then reinsert Disc". Tried that and let it lock onto 5 Birds and then I got my map back.

Interesting though the S/N (which I assume is the gain) is lower than on my 3er--maybe window tinting??? Dunno--as this is the first time it's happened and you'd think it would have shown up before.

Glad your navi is working.

Oh, and by the way, I think the phrase "wigged out" is an excellent description of said event and should be encouraged!
