745 door handle bulbs

anyone know what kind of bulbs are in the door handles of the 745Li id like to replace them with a more xenon looking led like in the new models

look up the part number, and then call your local dealer and ask them. Most likely its a 5 or 10 watt bayonet style bulb mounted inside a reflector housing just like the angel eyes.

i believe its the part no. 06 but wtf is that???? it says light module but that looks intense to me

sorry its a good site bro but it confuses the **** out of me lol can you kinda explain it to me or find the bulb im looking for cause i have no clue.

i have a 2004 745Li so i think you would click E66->745Li->10/2003

I think it's number 13. #6 is the light module that actually feeds the light to the door handle output. Anyone know anything more about this?

Was in the shop every 3 weeks for 7 days on average for a year+.

BMW bought it back and gave me a loaded 2006 750Li in its place, and when i say loaded i mean loaded. Has every single option but the sports package.

thanks well so its a 10w halogen bulb... hm well im wondering if i can figure out the exact bulb . and does anyone know how to access this bulb? i dont want to tear up the whole door panel just to change this little bulb.

I told you before and Im telling you again...you MUST remove the door panel to get to this bulb.

If you dont want to open up the door panel just to see what kind of bulb it is and if anyone even makes it in hyperwhite or LED, then go to the dealer and buy the bulb. Then you can see exactly what style it is. My bet is that its a bayonet style bulb, probably a Ba9

Im really interested in this door LED.. someone done this?? Not sure if i want to be the guinea pig on ripping apart my interior.

Does anyone think the "hyperwhite" door leds will clash with the yellow interior lights when you unlock the vehicle?

probably not.. esp if you have tint.. it will look pretty sweet

no doubt, with the tint it looks good. All you see are the door handles light up. Ours is tinted pretty dark so none of the interior lights effect the outside.

You can go out N the dark garage and just hit the button to light it up and not even need to turn on the lights. Pretty nice.

all the new 5 series and 3 series have xenon colored leds and they look really nice even with the yellow interior light

I think the xenon colored LEDs with the yellow interior light looks awful. The new Caddy DTS has xenon colored LEDs in the overhead console and regular yellow lights in the bottom of the doors, looks like crap together.

Actually the bulb size is a Ba9....
I went on Ebay and I bought 4 LED in Ba9 size...the only problem here is removing the door panel, it sucks and is really hard because you don't want to do a mess in your door panel, there's 5 screws you need to remove, one is behind the air bag plastic emblem, 2 in the middle of door, one behind the handle, and another small one in theplastic party closer to the body of the car. Then after that you need to pull really hard to release the plastic retainers, pulling from the bottom.
Then there's a little black cylinder and the bulb is there inside.

error free right?

Lol i remember back in the day someone said its impossible and has to do something with fiberoptic cable i have all my interior light updated to LEDs and door lights are ugly yellow. I dont mind taking the door apart i want to know 100% its possible

I just learned that the you don't need any error free lights in courtesy lights, interiors.... I'll do it this , I'll keep you guys posted...

And most of the lights the car uses are equivalent to t10 in LED.

The only ones you need to be error free are reverse lights, license plates, stop, angel eyes, turn and that's it.

Its 100% true about fiber optics, there's a small chamber with the bulb inside and a fiber optic cable all the wary up to the door handle, but the bulb is replaceable.

You only need 2 sizes of torx screwdrivers 30 and 10 to remove the door.

Do u guys have a pic of the bulb or link on ebay by any chance.
