First mod for the M3!!!

Sorry for the lame thread, but I am excited and I need to tell somebody. The first mod will be the Dixis titanium exhaust with larger tips!!! After hearing tons of sound clips, this was my favorite so I placed the order today. My M3 is only 530 miles old and I am already excited to get rid of the stock exhaust and into something that really showcases that beautiful inline 6! Hopefully it will be here by the end of the week or early next week so I can install it while it is up here in Vegas with me before going back down to California where it stays at our little vacation home. It also goes in for tint (I know its illegal) and a clear bra this week.

Again sorry for the lame thread with no pics of the exhaust, but here is a pic of the car just in its stock form...



Of course, un-installed and installed pics as well as a before & after review will be posted in this thread as soon as I get it in.

Oh, and make sure you give us pics of it installed with a few sound clips.

gixxer - I actually bought it off a friend who never installed it and sold his M3. I got it from him for $2k.

Arkady - I plan to take pictures before and after and I will try and get some sound clips as well. I just need to find a replacement battery for my video camera and find somebody who is less computer illiterate as I am to get it from my video camera to the internet.

Geez, I forgot all about writing this thread lol. Anyways, I installed the exhaust this past Thursday night and took the car back down to California the next day. Let me just say that after installing it, I would have paid twice as much . I was nothing short of stunned at how big of a difference in sound that made. I was a little skeptic because its just an axle back piece, but man does it sound 300% better. Install was seriously the easiest exhaust install I have ever done and it looks incredible. I also couldn't believe how much of a difference in weight their was between the Dixis and the stock piece. Holy crap, I could barely lift the stocker lol. My only complaint is that the bolts supplied with the Dixis system were just a hair too short which added 30 minutes of install time to get them on. They were just barely long enough to get one thread going on each bolt if you position the clamps just right.

I did take pictures, but left the camera in the car down in California by accident. Have no fear however, as I am going to be down there next weekend.

I'm curious to hear what it sounds like. How loud is it compared to other exhausts such as eisenmann?

I have no clue. I have never heard any other exhaust on an M3.
