Does the M6 Really have that much change?

While I love the m6 and the m5, I was recently at the dealership getting my e46 m3 a lojack while walking around car looking I realized that the m6 and the m5 dont have the biggest differences from their 6 and 5 counterparts. While they do have the engine... thats implied, the better rims and paint jobs, not to mention the hot side grill and other small body modifications. Do you really think they have enough body modifications to really show a big difference? While I can easily spot the difference in the cars, I wonder if your average mercedes owner or whatever else might easily distinguish the difference... Your thoughts?

What makes these cars special is exactly that bit of stealthiness. Many people could care less if others can't easily distinguish any difference. The owner knows it.

Only now, since I own an M6 can I actually see the differences at a glance. The Mirrors, the exhaust, the front end, the side grills, etc.

The rims don't really count anymore, given that a number of people with normal 6'ers have bought the unique M wheels (I know... I sold mine to a guy with a 650) to make their car look like an "M" series.

I suppose one other way they can tell is that they won't be able to keep up with me...Oh yea, there is one MORE way...

...they will see me at the gas station all the time! ;-)

No doubt. If you know, you know.

Talking Well...

The people in the 'Know', know exactly what the differences are.

The regular surveyor will just see a difference and say, "That's a BMW!"

Kinda funny thread.....

The E60 M5 is most like the E34 M5, very stealthy, high revver.... The E36 M3 was very stealthy....

The E39 M5 and E46 M3 are really unique because of all the M cars (aside from the e30 M3), they things were really attention getters....between the numerous visual ques and the colors that were available.
