2007 Rear Entertainment System

I am looking to purchase the E70 Rear DVD system and retrofit it into my 2006 E53 sport. Does anyone have any referrals for wholesale pricing?

I am guessing that the E70 is the new model X5 (all these model codes are hard to keep straight)...

First off, do you actually know of anyone who has done this retrofit before? If not, I am wondering if you might have some problems seeing that all of the new BMW's operate on that new fiberoptic wiring system....on the other hand, I have no idea whether this wiring extends to the rear seat entertainment, so it could turn out to not be an issue...

I have no idea if what I am saying is right or not, but those are my intial thoughts..
To answer your question, I don't believe anything like wholesale pricing exists, as there is no wholesaler for OEM BMW parts like this...

I think the only place you could get one of these would be from a dealer.. you could try for the ten or fifteen percent BMWCCA discount though...

Yes...the E70 is the 2007 X5. I also saw a Mercedes ML kit that was very similar. The seller said that it would fit, howver, I wanted to stay with BMW OEM parts. Thanks for the reply.

I suggest CircleBMW.com for a lower price.

There is a kit for the E53 X5 that replaces the headrests........ will not fit if your X5 has comfort seats due to the difference in the actual diameter of the headrest support posts (on comfort seats, the headrests are motorized and thicker bars) - check your local retailer.

I think there is also a generic BMW kit that works from the roof as long as you do not have pano roof..... watch rear view vision issues though.

..
Only the adaptive suspension in the new X5 uses fiberoptics. At least I believe Flexray is fiberoptic.
