He asked for a "best GUESS" so i don't think we need to involve the man above on this. My guess is 15% off to 22% off the car's original MSRP.

I agree... right now you can pick up an 06 with less than 5k miles in the mid 70's... so next summer with the 08's around the corner and the E60 normal 5 series with the new facelift... you will defiently pick one up for mid 60's

Yep, M5 price will be mid 60's by summer. Heck the old E39 M5 with low miles is about the same price as an E46 M3 the same year. That's the problem with luxury cars...the original owners take the biggest hit. If you want the best value for a car, keep it for at least 5 years and get the most use out of it. If you trade every year, it'll mean lots of $$.
A good rule of thumb is that a car will lose 1/2 of its new retail value after 5 years. Now the people who had to have one first and paid $20K over sticker.....well..... |

When did you consider that? An 02 M5 with 45k miles...in a private party sale is worth at most $40k. I am guessing yousaw that car for sale at a BMW dealership...and at that price it is still sitting there. E39 M5s are pretty cheap now. I know- I bought one a year ago (02 22k miles for $45k).

I was curious a few days ago and took my M5 to our local porsche dealer and had it appraised (wanted to see what I would get as trade-in value if I ordered a Porsche 911 turbo). I currently have about 11K miles on it and do you know what they offered me for my 2006 M5 with every option and no damages?
$67,000 - What a JOKE! Almost $8,000 below Kelley Blue Book... |

Do a search on Cars.com or Autotrader
Several to be had for around $70k. Don't kid yourselves.

Why are they so beat?
SMG and i-Drive? I still like my styling better. The new 5 is a boat |

![]() Actually the M5 prices will plummet due to the new Lexus IS-F supercar. Everyone will want one and quickly dump their old M5. |

Yeah, If you compare the Toyota....I mean Lexus to the E39 M5 @ 400 bhp. Simply push a button and the E60 M is in a different world than the Lexus, around 507 bhp.
