More Power

I have a 2003 745i, this maybe a dumb question to ask for this type of car. I want more power, so are there any modifications that can be made to improve HP, torque, or just overall power? No turbo, no supercharger, no intercooler nothing????

I'm not sure if anyone makes an intake, but there are exhausts available, that might be a start, Dinan also makes a bigger throttle body. http://www.dinancars.com/Series.asp?...is=41&Model=99

Jet Chips also makes a performance chip, but i'm not sure of the precise specs

VF Engineering is said to have a supercharger kit in development for the car.

Im already in the midst of findinga new exhaust so thats definately a good start.. but i'll have to look more into that throttle body, and the performance chips... the performance chip is pretty much just a software upgrade for the ECU/DME right???....thanks for the info

JA 7 You think even exhaust is to risky, or just having the chip software upgraded

No exhaust is fine but playing with the engine could cost you your a$$. God knows what it would cost to rebuild the engine. BMW would void the hell out of your warranty if you start playing around under the hood, and installing power adders. It will no doubt reduce the longevity of your engine.

This has always been somthing that has baffled me, and I have been stuck in this same position. You want to upgrade your exhaust. You have researched every which way, and feel you have a good understanding of the details. All the while when it comes time to drop significant coin on the exhaust it is really a huge gamble. A Gamble?, you say. How often does someone get to hear the specific exhaust system they are buying on their specific model of car? I bet not to many, and a sound clip off the internet at least to my ears is different then standing next to the car. I feel better after that little rant, back on topic:

I would love to hear a Borla Cat-Back on an E65/E66 to see if i like it!

The 7 series is definitely a car that doesn't get performance mods often. It's rough to run into people like that, you could try searching people on the board near you.
