The San Diego caravan will be meeting up at the Starbucks at Carlsbad Company Stores (located on Paseo del Norte off Interstate 5 between Palomar Airport Rd. and Cannon Rd). The meeting time is 5:30 a.m. and the departure from there is 5:50 a.m.

The San Diego Caravan will be arriving and meeting up with the Orange County Caravan in Huntington Beach at around 6:45 a.m. at yet another Starbucks (I am beginning to see a trend here; everyone will be up so early that we all need coffee!!). The Starbucks is located at 7777 Edinger Ave. (Directions are as follows: From 405 N+S: exit Beach Blvd (heading towards Huntington Beach). Make a right onto Edinger. Make a right at 1st traffic light and that will lead you into Huntington Beach Plaza. Starbucks is towards the back.) The Orange County Caravan will be there waiting for us, since they will be arriving at the Starbucks at 6:30 a.m.

Both the San Diego and Orange County Caravan will leave that Starbucks together at 7 a.m. sharp. We will then be heading towards the Los Angeles Caravan, which will be meeting us at the Balboa Sports Center. The Balboa Sports Center is located at 17015 Burbank Blvd, Encino, CA 91316, near where the 101 and 405 meet.

The combined caravans from San Diego and Orange County will arrive at the Sports Center at about 8 a.m. (Prior to the Los Angeles caravan meeting at the Balboa Sports Center, it will meet up in Glendale and caravan to the Sports Center together. If you are planning to caravan to the Sports Center from Glendale, you'll want to meet up at the In-and-Out Burger in Glendale. Directions to In-and-Out as follows: From 605/210 (Pasadena/Azuza), you take the 210 W and get on the 134 West (Ventura freeway), you get off on Harvey, make a right, and it's the first driveway to the right. It's got an In-N-Out and a Rusty Pelican in the lot. If you are coming from the 134/5 (Burbank/The valley), you'll take 134 East towards Glendale, you get off on Harvey, make a left, go under the freeway, it's the first driveway to the right. The Glendale caravan will meet at 7 a.m. and head towards the Balboa Sports Center at 7:30 a.m., with an arrival at the Sports Center at 8 a.m.

The Balboa Sports Center marks the combination spot for the San Diego/Orange County and Los Angeles Caravans. We will all leave the Sports Center at 8:30 a.m. and head towards Santa Barbara for Bimmerfest 2002.

When we get into Santa Barbara, we will all exit the Las Positas exit and head straight towards Cutter Motors. (Jon Shafer says the Las Positas exit is optimal because the offramp is about a half mile long and we will not back up traffic as we exit the 101N -- unlike the Hope Street exit, which backs up traffic on the 101N.)

The caravans should be pulling into Cutter Motors at around 10 a.m.

Anyone following these directions will miss all the caravans, be at the wrong place and be late. These are very old directions...like 5 years old..

Hey I'm going to be leaving from Vista in my black 323ci as early as possible. We're gonna try to jump on the SD caravan when it goes by. We'll try to have a walkie with us too. Any definite waiting places set up for North County yet?

The Outlet mall in Carlsbad off of Palomar airport around 5:30am. I believe the SD caravan will be cruising through the area around 6am

This is correct. I will be leading the San Diego contingent from UTC at 5:30 Sharp and should be passing the Outlets before 6:00. Have your walkies on channel 6-0 and you'll know when the caravan is passing by.

Sounds like a plan to me- I was just going to be by one of the first main entrances on the right... not the one that is by the dirt lot. But starbucks sounds fine. I'll plan to be there at 5:40 at the latest, just to talk with you guys; as I think the gang will be heading up around 6 or just before.

See you there!

I did, yeah. Took a neat drive past Lake Casitas sunday afternoon, followed by a coast route past Malibu and its canyons. Awesome weekend! Good meeting some of you on the way up!

I don't know what happened, I think I missed the caravan and anyone who was at starbucks by minutes. I got to the mall around 5:50am.

I jumped on the 5 and cruised alone for about an hour when I came up on black 540i and a silver e36 sedan. It coulda been a disaster for me since I didn't have directions to where I was going. I just jumped on the 5 and prayed for the best. As soon as I saw the Bimmerfest stickers on these cars, I instantly felt safe, LOL

One more thing, Did anyone come up on the BMW traffic jam from the 405 to the 101??? That was awsome, there must of been at least 100-200 BMW on the small part of the freeway. People in normal cars were looking around like "WTF, theres a lot of bimmers out this morning"

I think I had the only Oxford Green Metallic e39 sedan.

I took the caravan out of UTC at 5:30. We were passing the Outlets by 5:45 and called-out on the walkies. Go to hear that you were able to meet-up with the caravaners.

Yeah, that accident just bunch all of us up. But we did have picture and piss breaks.

Yeah I figured there'd be no way that you guys would have taken 1/2 hour to fly up the 5 in hour through Carlsbad, yup I missed you guys by minutes =(. lol
