E82 / E88 1 Series (2008 - 2013)
BMWs throw back to the iconic 2002, with a renewed form and function. The smallest car in BMW's line up but still packs a punch. Available in coupe or convertible, powered by either an inline 6 in the 128 or the twin turbo rocket sled 135.

Another photo of the European 1er

Here is a couple of 1ers at the ED center in Munich. I took this shot while waiting for my 335i. I think BMW should bring the hatch back into the US. Itís been a strong seller for the Mazda 3 series.

JMO, but I they'll see what happens with the coupe before they attempt the hatch.

The hatch would sell like hotcakes in Canada, but nothing comes to Canada unless it can also sell well in the U.S. Alas, you guys don't love hatches like we do... so it ain't coming. I'd buy one in a second!

Not true. If I were a Canadian resident a few years ago I could have bought a Jaguar X-type Estate Wagon with a manual transmission. Such were (and remain) impossible to get in the US.

Regarding the hatchback, this Yank would LOVE to be able to buy a 135i hatch! We Americans buy a great many hatchback vehicles, but we make them top-heavy and call them SUV's.
