87 325is exhaust manifolds different than other years?

On the 87 325is the PO let it run like crap wasting the cat. This is a 100% original vehicle.
I ordered a Magnaflow cat / down pipe system that is a "direct fit bolt in" part part # 23554.
The first system had the front flange rotated 9 1/4 degrees out of alignment of the studs on the manifolds, sent it back and got another one shipped. This time the rear flange is rotated 9 degrees out of alignment.
Called Magnaflow tech, was told they used a standard 325is vehicle to make up their jig and exhaust system i'm the first one to ever complain about not fitting.
Was told I must have a odd and different exhaust manifolds, what a crock of chit,
has anyone run across this kind of problem with Magnaflow products?
I always thought they had a good quality product, this may be true but their jigs or fixtures
are something that needs attention unless they have an employee that doesn't give a damn.

I had a Magnaflow full exhaust system on my old 88is. Headers to muffler. I had issues getting the headers to clear the firewall. They told me that my motor mounts must be out of line.

Funny this is though...they were. Trust them. IMO

You may be able to rout out the flange to a useable alignment. I know its "Hokey", but in certain situations, you gotta do what cha gotta do to make it work. Been there done that many times with many parts on MANY differnt cars aaaand trucks.
