Water Pump Blew Up

The water pump blew up on my 328. It also took out the fan and fan clutch. I didnt get to inspect the old pump as I was rushing around in the 105 degree heat. My mechanic showed me the fan that lost all it's blades. After exercising my Visa card all is well.
Moral: If you replace your radiator replace the water pump as well!!!
Have a great Labor Day everyone!! (That is, for Americans!!)

Good question!! I was in a huge rush in 100 degree heat and forgot to take the old parts home. I believe it was the original 1996 water pump if that helps. Cheers!

Stupid plastic impellers!!!

Let this be a lesson to everyone. If you dont know if you have a plastic or metal impeller water pump GET IT CHECKED. A new metal impeller pump will cost no more than 50 ($100) and will save the THOUSANDS of dollars worth of damage caused when your engine overheats and you need a new gasket...or more
