Dang it. I just bought my E30 and now I need to get a E21 to truly be an old fart. Actually, wouldn't a E21 with a swapped-in S50 be an incredible track car? I parked next to a E21 at my last DE and that car was fast with just a well-built M20.

No, their susp isn't as competent as the E30 and not as balanced either. E30's make the ultimate track car unless you can afford to track a E30 ///M3 EVO or E36 ///M3 factory lightweight.

Agreed that the E21 isn´t as balanced but with the right mods, the suspension can equal an E30. Esp. if you start out with the S model.

I helped my girlfriend by a '79 320i in 1984... so, I guess I can post here also..

Unlike most others, I actually liked the E21...

have questions re: replacing stock radio in 1983 320i

Would like to replace my stock radio with a cd or cassette/cd player. Will get from Crutchfield. Have been told that cd will not work in car because of vertical location.
Is this true? What are my options? Have thought of installing where ashtray is located.
thanks for any advice!!!!

bimmer1983. My cuncle has an E21 6-cyl. He installed a Daewoo CD-player in the dash.
It worked fine ! But, I think the built-in amp was too pwoerful for the cars old speakers so they went out everytime you increase the volume.
