Seats
My front seats creak a bit when going round corners. Does this mean my seats are worse for wear or can I just tighten some bolts?
If I need new ones, I'm tempted to replace with a set of black leather ones...

Mine do too. I don't have any loose bolts anywhere. Mine are making sounds like the leather rubbing against the frame or the cushion. I need to pull the drivers seat and replace the power recline gear that arrived from Bavauto this weekend. I'm going to try to locate the source of the noise and put some talcum power or lub on it. I'll let you know what I find.

Mine creak as well. I think it's just their age.

I think they all creak with age.
Not only the seats, but my bones.

I haven't go leather, but would like. 96,000 miles is enough to expect creaking, but would like to get rid of it if possible!

Ok, the new power seat recline gear is installed and I can now adjust the seat-back angle, Woo hoo! Since I had to pull the drivers seat out of the car to install the new gear, I pulled the passenger seat out too and steam cleaned the carpets while the seats were out. (Much needed, as the previous owner must have been a total slob.) While the seats were out I cleaned the undersides, oiled or greased every joint that moves, reconditioned the leather, and a wonderful side benefit, no more creaks!
Pulling the seats really isn't that much of a task. I didn't even disconnect the battery, but I was careful to not put the keys in the ignition and try to turn on anything while the seats were out. They are a little heavy, 60 or 70 lbs, I'd guess, so you might want help getting them out. (Wasn't a problem at all with a convertible, but could be a pain in a coupe or sedan.) Once they are out of the car they are easy to move around, and cleaning them is a breeze. Sorry I don't have any pictures to share, our digital camera died and I haven't replaced it yet...

Mine are leather and have seen 210,000 km, but are completely "sans-creak".
Though there's a $2 coin sitting in the top of one track, that I reckon I can't get out without removing the seat from the car. It's infuriating every time I'm scratching around for a few dollars and remember its existence. |

No creaks here ! ! !
Jason, about the coin issue !!! lol !!! My stupid cousine had this old OLD Honda Civic, possibly 197?. Anyways, both of the center A/C vents had nothing to cover them. So, open air ducts and whatever goes in wont come out ! How did his cell phone end up inside one of the vents I have no idea !!!
