Anybody have aftermarket seats in a m coupe?
I'm installing aftermarket seats in my m coupe and sparco evo's will not fit. The shoulder supports are to wide. When the seats are in the proper position the shoulder suppport sticks out the window. Has anybody installed a one piece seat in a coupe? Any help would be appreciated.

Linko's got them.
He's tried two different brands, as soon as he sees this he'll fill you in on the details.

Seat
The Cobra Imola and suzuka will just fit. Brackets are a custom creation. I also trimmed 1/2 " off sholders to reduce interference.

Did you have to cut the seats to get them in or was it just so they would fit better? I would rather not cut the seats unless that is my only option. If you have to cut them to get them in, I'm going to stick with the sparcos and cut them. Which seat fit better the cobra imola or suzuka? If you have any pictures please post them.

Seats
The edge of the shoulder was rubbing on the door trim and leaving a little indentation. I was afraid the door lock would be stressed due to the interference. not real bad but I wanted it better.
I'll look for photos. Both seats fit, the suzuka had very high sides and made getting in and out difficult for a daily driver, thats why I went with the imola.

Thanks for the info. I'm leaning toward keeping the sparco evos and trimming them. I did realize it would such a problem to get aftermarket seats in the car.

I've got a 2nd hand Cobra Suzuka that came out of Karl Asseily's coupe, so it definitely can fit. He had to shave the door side ear as well to clear the door trim.
I'm struggling with this too. The Suzuka is a bit *cough* tight for me, so I'm looking for something a bit wider in the butt without being too much more so in the (seat) ears. The Suzuka GT is 2" wider in the butt, 1" wider in the ears. The Sparco Evo2 is roughly 4 inches wider than the Suzuka in the butt/lower back (no direct comparison measurement between the sparco and cobra seat charts), and 1.1" wider across the ears. The Sparco Pro 2000 is even wider than the Evo2 (strange since the Evo2 is positioned as the "fat guy" (200+ lbs) seat, and thinner by 0.4" in the ears than the Evo2. Here are some pics of a Grand Am Cup prepared z3 coupe with a Sparco Pro 2000 in it. The guy running this team says it's a good fit in the car. I'll probably head over there next week to see how it fits.

BTW, Subesports is a good place to go when shopping for a seat. They sell Cobra, Sparco, and Momo, and have a nice online catalog for those lines, including a seat chart (measurements) for the Cobra stuff. Go to the Sparco site for their seat chart.
