Analog Clock to 18 button OBC

Quote:
From what I read we can install the computer as the main wiring harness is the same on all models but its going to cost a fortune. not only do you have to buy the computer but also all the sensors as well. I gave that idea up a long time ago.
I lied .

I just got my hands on an 18 button OBC for 26GBP (50 dollars or 37 euro).

I have been reading up on this and have managed to get my hands on a complete wiring diagram for the E36. From the information I have collected this is doable and i'm going to do it.

I will update this thread with progress and at the end I will produce a how to guide. I was thinking to do the how to in PDF but if there is any progress on the proposed wiki then that might be an alternative.

So in three weeks I will have a brand new toy or be in a mental institution

I expect you will have a new toy. I know a couple guys who have done what you plan to do, in Portugal and Romania. You should be able to sort things out from the wiring diagrams. If you can't, just ask. Use solder and heat shrink to make your connections if you want a reliable result. 10+ years later, my retrofitted OBC is still happy as a clam. (Are your local clams also happy? )

There's nothing like a nice hairy clam I wont elaborate you get it or you dont.

John thanks I thought it could be done but i did not have any confirmation that it had been done. And yes it does look like some bespoke wiring is involved. Thanks for the offer of help it is appreciated.
