Read the thread FULLY

The barrel CAN'T be taken out easily WITHOUT ur car keys

To remove it without the car key will mean damaging the ignition barrel and other expensive parts

I suggest u contact ur local dealer and get replacement keys

They will do this off ur VIN (chassis) number and proof of ownership

I pity the poor E36 that got hit with a hammer and screw driver. Do you own the car or did you steal it from somewhere?

In common sense when keys are lost; any BMW owner would do is to ring up to nearest dealership, verify ownership and have duplicate keys made.

Brain>Brawn. period.

+1!!

Over the past several weeks there has been MANY threads on this site describing in detail the removal and fitting if an ignition barrel

All u needed wa a new set of keys, they would have cost a LOT less than destroying the old barrel 'cos now u need a new barrel, carrier AND new keys!!!
