Can 1984 M30 engine fit in e30 body?

I hav a 1986 735i n its a bit of a big car if u know what i mean. I want to remove its engine (m30) and put it in a e30 body. Would it b an easy job? Would i hav to make many adjustments? Has it ever been done? Can it b done? Plz send me a Pvt msg. Thanx a mil...
