WTB: Performance chip

Looking for a performance chip for my 86 325es. Dont really trust the $35 ones on ebay and am trying to avoid the 200-300 ones brand new.Chip needs to be 24-pin for ecu's ending in 027.

I did and am running it after almost 1 year. 90% of the time it is a copy of a Dinan, Mark D, Jim C. or Turner any damn way.

ok well in that case, how do i know it will be reputable and actually boost the gains it claims?

Alright, well i guess it just 30 bucks, but it makes me nervous to try something that i dont know about on the ecu of my car

No but more than likely a copy. I say buy it before it gets pulled and they end up in court for (c) infringment.

My advice would be to go ahead and get the chip, hold on to it untill you can find a good ecu, and install it in the "new" ecu and give it a try. That way you're not actually tearing into anything, and you won't cause any problems.

I have an eprom chip from ebay in my car.It was easy to install. It was supposed to raise the rev limit 400rpms and add like 20 horsepower, didn't notice any difference until.............................i bought a cone filter, my car revs to about 6100@41mph in first. and its an automatic. I think the only way to test is to buy a cone filter and see if it makes the car shift later ........if not, i guess the $30 ebay chip actually works.

There aren't many. :[ I want to buy one.
