Bear in mind that the exhaust vids will sound a LOT different depending on your speaker setup.

-That info is VERY lengthy and is on my Z4 M Coupe thread (click on the link above right above my sig). I know telling you to go find it is the easy way out for me, but you really should read through the posts and discussions. It will be more informative for you than if I just sum it up here. Although I will anyway: +5-10hp (no BS) through the entire rpm range until the DME cools things off around 5000rpm and the HP curves back to stock at the peak. The Stage 2 also cuts 21lbs from the car, compared to stock.

Is there anything particularly special about shipping to them? I am not familiar with APO.

Shipping to an APO is similar to shipping out of the country, you need to fill out paperwork that is similar to a customs claim. Package content, value of contents, etc. Other then that it's the same; at least that's how it is with USPS

Yes, they just need to meet the shipping restrictions of the USPS as far as weight, length, and girth of the package. They might need to break up the boxes, but it shouldn't be an issue. I had an exhaust shipped to me for my M6 and it worked OK when they broke it up into two boxes.

I'm all in!

I am beginning to think we will not reach the 10 person mark- can you ask Chris to contact us about paying the regular price? I have sent an email and not received a response, $100 is not worth the wait to me, I want something yesterday

What about the cat-delete resonator section pictured on Page 10, Post #244? Did you guys decide not to make that? Are you running it on your car? If you're not making it, why? I'm leaning heavily toward signing up for Stage 2...

-At this time the Stage 3 section is not being produced. This is because without software tuning the DME causes a 20hp loss at peak RPM (Stage 3 flows too well). Despite the huge increase in low-RPM power and the weight loss from removing the cats, we don't feel right releasing a product that technically detracts from HP. I am not abandoning the product, but it is on hold until I have time to properly investigate software alternatives.

p.s. If BMS does produce the Stage 3 section it will not interfere or have any installation problems with the Stage 2 system. It would simply be another bolt-on section forward of the Stage 2 x-pipe.

OK, sounds good. I remember reading about the dyno runs you did with the exhaust but I don't remember seeing any charts. Any chance you might be able to post a dyno chart with the Stage 2 installed? (preferably a before and after but I'd settle for anything you've got) Thanks.

I thought I posted it on my thread. Here is a graph with three different configurations. The green line is stock, the red line is Stage 2 and the blue line is Stage 3. Note: The different runs were NOT corrected on this graph for temperature and pressure. They were all done on the same dyno by the same operator. I've done point-by-point correction myself (using a standard correction formula) and according to the math the Stage 2 line, at peak, equals the stock green line. Therefore if you visually pull the red line up to the same peak of the green line you will see how much extra HP you get with the Stage 2 throughout the RPM range.

MZ4 Exhaust systems

Hello Everyone,
Sorry for the delayed reply, the shop has been very busy. I have just had a conversation with our exhaust supplier and I will have 5 complete stage 1/ stage 2 systems completed by the 29th of November. I will give the same deal for the 10 unit buy for the first 5 systems that we sell. I will not make everyone wait for the 10 because, I really want to get this product out on the street. That way, the sceptics will be able to here the system in person, sound clips don't do it justice...
I need to get back to work now, thank you, and again, sorry for delays in getting the MZ4 parts out to the people that really want them.
Chris @ BMS

I just installed this Friday and went to the mountains yesterday, what an improvement. The silence is gone and now I can hear what the car is doing

I decided to go with their Stage 2 system which includes a replacement X-Pipe sans resonator and replacement mufflers:

The sound is GREAT, on idle you hear a low burble that becomes a crescendo of sound until tapering off at high RPMs. Much easier to heel/toe and hear what the car is doing as opposed to watching the tach. I REALLY enjoyed my test drive in the mountains yesterday and feel that this exhaust is exactly the missing piece I was looking for, props to BMS and Chris at BMS for delivering a quality product for our M Coupes

Here is my write up on the R&R: http://www.billswebspace.com/MZ4ExhaustRR.htm

wrh3, you should consider making a standalone thread for your exhaust DIY. It was a really good writeup
