E82 / E88 1 Series (2008 - 2013)
BMWs throw back to the iconic 2002, with a renewed form and function. The smallest car in BMW's line up but still packs a punch. Available in coupe or convertible, powered by either an inline 6 in the 128 or the twin turbo rocket sled 135.

Talking 135 available for military sales!

A friend of a friend just ordered a Military-Sale 135 coupe through his homebase in Alaska... base price was $29k!

$475 for metallic paint, $1,450 for leather, $1,100 for Sport Package, $350 for Ipod Adapter, $500 for Comfort Access, $1,200 for Logic7 Sound System and that's $34,075. However, I don't understand why there was also a $2,900 "transport to US" fee. Maybe the fact that he's in Alaska and ordering from Bahrain?

$2,900 transport to US fee???

I wonder what that is. Maybe that is more than shipping, perhaps it includes taxes or something.

Anyway, if the dip / mil sales base for a 135 is 29k then I estimate the U.S. MSRP to be between 32k and 33k.

All I saw was the bill of sale, he can still change the options, etc that he chose; but the bill of sale detailed the price of the car and the options and those extras I mentioned.

Firm pricing has not yet been set even for the military sales program, those are just estimates. The amount I pay here in Germany includes staeside shipping and expected to be around 31k base price for the 135i. Please don't quote speculation as fact.

That is awesome! I wonder what the 128i coupe and the 135tii will go for.
I would most defnintely order a 128i coupe with 6MT and ZSP if it is priced in the low 20's.

Nathan here at Pentagon Car Sales,

Robinsonda1 is correct, firm prices are not out yet, although we are currently accepting orders baed on an "estimated" price of $25,000 for the 128i & $31,000 for the 135i.

Most likely these prices are on the high end however, with the actual cost probably closer to $24,000 & $30,000 & the option prices similiar to the 3 Series.

The 135i has been far outselling the 128i at this point, although there seems to more and more interest in both models with the German launch approaching.

If you have any questions please feel free to send me an email.

Cheers,

Do you know the percentage off that the military gets over the general public on the 135 and\or 128? By the way, I think our fine servicemen and women should get new cars at a much cheaper rate than they do.

That includes import tax and shipping insurance, but not state sales tax.

Man, american soldiers get deals on cars, eat for free in uniform and get to go to disney land any time they want. In Canada we're regularly asked to leave bars. However there are alot of other differences in our favor, Its just interesting how gung-hoe military u guys are.

Yep, I think most Americans know the sacrifices the military men/women go through and the many military men/women who died for our country past and present. They are very much appreciated in the US, every time I hear the national anthem, they are the first people I think of. I was recently on a flight from Detroit, which had a number of military on it, the pilot came over the loud speaker and told the passengers of the presence, they got a huge round of applause, it was very cool.

Go back with 5-10 friends, lock the door, and clean the dump up.

Well said and cool story! Understanding just how repressed most of the rest of the world lives gives us Americans great respect for those who fight to protect our freedom!

American soldiers are a unique class in our country. These are folks are from all backgrounds and make great sacrifices. I hope they get every discount possible. If I have to pay a bit extra on my BMW so that their discount can be subsidized, so be it. I'm all about making it more accessible for our finest men and women to own the ultimate driving machine.

Having said that, I'd like to order my 135 too, please.

The prices for the options are definitely going to be lower. If you look at the ED/invoice prices for options on a 2008 E92 convertible, they price as follows:

$1000 Sport Package
$455 Comfort Access
$1090 Logic 7 (This is from 328i pricing, as it is standard on 335i, but the 135i premium audio isn't even Logic 7, so it should be way less... should be like $800 like the premium sound package on the X3)
$430 Metallic Paint
$1320 Leather

I just don't see how pricing for options on a 2008 135i would be higher than a 2008 E92 vehicle...

I can see an ED invoice base price of $30205, which is the ED invoice price of an 328i coupe (which has an MSRP of $35,300). Here is a prediction I posted on 1addicts...
