E82 / E88 1 Series (2008 - 2013)
BMWs throw back to the iconic 2002, with a renewed form and function. The smallest car in BMW's line up but still packs a punch. Available in coupe or convertible, powered by either an inline 6 in the 128 or the twin turbo rocket sled 135.

135i at the LA Auto Show! Pic...

I really hate this color...don't know why they chose to intro the car this way. But, I do like the car and predict that it will be a huge hit, I'll just take mine in black.

Yeah, I like most reds, but in that light I'm not a big fan of that particular shade. Got any more shots?

Ask one of the people from BMW if they will open up the car for you, they probably will. It's easier if it's when they first open or at the end of the night.let us know if there's any rear leg room.

I sat in the front seat of both a coupe and a convertible yesterday. I didn't try the back, but it didn't look like it would be comfortable for an adult. With the front seat adjusted for a 6 footer, there isn't much clearance between the seat back and the front of the back seat.

I'm 5'8" so there is some leg room with the seat adjusted for me. Rear headroom might be an issue too. The 'vert looked like it had less head room than the coupe, but that may have been an illusion.

Think e36/5 318ti, but with a nicer interior.

They did not bring the concept Tii here so I am thinking that the concept won't be making it to American shores

When I's drooling over the 1-series, I constantly over heard ppl (at least 3-4 ppl) "bitching" about the price and said "at that price, might as well go for the 3-series". Not sure if this will be the general reaction to the 135...

I was at the Tampa Auto Show last weekend. No 1er. I asked why, and was told by a BMW Rep. that it wouldn't be introduced until the Detroit show. What B.S.

I'm going there with my son next week and I'd sure like to see if my 6'5" frame will be comfortable in the 1er...

It probably will be.

The 1 series isn't the truly enthusiast oriented car that many seemed to be hoping for, so it's probably going to be a tough sell (even to the niche market).

Even if the 1er is relatively successful, I fully expect the 3 series to retain the sales crown in the BMWNA lineup.

I tried, but the BMW rep told me that the 135 there was the first and only 1er imported to the U.S. so far.

I doubt that since I saw a coupe and a convertible at the VDC in Oxnard two weeks ago.
