X6 E71 / E72 (2008 - 2014)
The BMW X6 luxury crossover went on sale in April 2008 as a 2009 model year. BMW referes to the X6 as a Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) as it combines the attributes of an SUV (high ground clearance, xDrive and all-weather ability) with the stance, styling and roof line shape of a coupe. The E71 X6 was built off the E70 X5 (2007 - 2013) platform at BMW's Spartanburg, SC plant. Total worldwide sales were just over 235,000, sold mostly to the BRIC countries. US total sales was 34,082 vehicles.

Cool X6 Looks great and set for Dakar type rallye!

Hi, Was looking to start a question on X5 3liter diesel for USA market entry when I found the X6 forum ... X6? Well news to me, looks absolutely great from the concept pictures . 4 doors, sport looks, 4x4 it makes me think of the rallye cars Mitsubishi used on the Paris Dakar Rallye a few years ago with great success. I wonder whether BMW intends to run this gem in the Dakar and seize the spotlight . 3 liter diesel... could be a winner torque, power and economy in this car I expect will do wonders in a race like that. For me, a mere road commoner, I would be tempted if the price is right and the concept car is not too far from reality on the road. Anyone know some specifics on the car, when in the US/Houston area, engines, cost etc...

Have a great Holiday season!
