interior year swap question

I have an 83 635 csi, It needs a new interior (seats dash etc) at this point I think it will be best just to by a donor car and give mine new life. I have heard that there are two generations of interior for the 635, mine being the earlier. At what point does the change occur and what would not be interchangeable. also if anyone has any advise on where I can find a good donor car (preferably east coast please let me know) Thanks everyone
