Heated seats
Can you add heated seats if the car came without them?

No. And I have never heard of anyone replacing the seats in order to rig up heated seats either.

BMW (and now Mini) tend to use the same wire harness for a lot of the theirs cars regardless of the options installed. This might mean that the wiring for the heated seats might already be located under your seats (taped out of the way some place), but you'd have to research this. If it is, it shouldn't be too hard to do the retrofit. You'd just need heated seats and the switches for them. BTW, I've seen heated seats for sale or trade on NAM on occasion.

It is possible! It works for every car by BMW. I did it recently with my E39. I had standard manual seats. now I have electrical leather heated seats with massage function.
