Blue Tooth

Hey guys,

New member here! Just got a 2004 745LI, what a car!

I have never owned a BMW before, and I came from a supercharged S2000 so needless to say it is a polar opposite.

It didnt come with an owners manual and I was able to download one of the BMW'S owners circle, but I still cant find what I am looking for.

But I cant seem to be able to figure out the bluetooth option. I have a Blackberry pearl, do I need a special phone or what?

Any help would be great, please guide me

Thanks,
Jesse P San Diego

Your black berry should work with the bluetooth.

Do you have the CPT 9000 adapter in the center console?

If so, on the back of it (take it out of the holster), and the bluetooth pairing number (about 8 digits long) should be on the back. Write that down. Put it in there, and tell your phone to search for the car while holding down the button down on the bluetooth adapter in the holster in center console. Type in the password "pairing number" when prompted. Voila. Your phone is now paired.

In the center console I have a thing that looks like it holds a phone.

I am not sure what the adapter is though, is that it?

You need to buy the cpt9000. Your car does not have the bluetooth feature, google cpt9000 or check ebay, it installs in seconds.

Yeah, It was a lease return from BMW and it had one owner, and all the maintenance was done.

follow up question for yah, what drop are you running, were you able to get the camber to spec with an allignment and does it effect the ride a lot.

I have had lowered cars all of my life but I got the 7 just to cruz you know. But know I got the bug, and the gap between my 22s and fender bugs me just like always!

im running H&R in the front and lowered via computer in rear becasue of the self level suspension. 95% of the guys here are running H&R's. my camber is fine BMW did the allignment on the car. im very satified with the ride quality to. if you have 22's lowering is a must.

+1. the car will handle like a champ but you certainly won't be cruising like you do on the stock springs. it is definitely a harsher ride.

^^^A lot much IMO - especially if he's going from non sport springs to H&R. Harsh maybe not the right terminoplogy since the 7 isn't really ever "harsh". I would say "jumpy" is more appropriate.

i been in sunnys car, it still feels smooth as silk, absolutly not harsh at ALL. If i didnt, know it was lowered, I would never know by just riding in it, that it has been lowered.
On the other hand, my 645 got a lot more rougher after the hr springs drop. Maybe because its lighter, and no air ride in the back? dunno.

Apologies for hijacking the thread, but didn't want to start another Bluetooth one.
As i understood, for 2002 i should use CPT 8000? Does it support any modern phones and do all of the 2002 745s support the adapter? And will it work with any provider as far as the phone is supported?
Thanks.

it should support just about all blurtooth phones and providers. some phones are less compatible and don't download addreses onto your BMW display. what phone do you have? someone on the forum is bound to have your phone and can give you details on compatibility.

the CPT8000/9000 is a bluetooth module that slides in the phone cradle which enables you to use bluetooth feature in the '02-05 e65/e66.
