The Bimmerfest European Delivery Sign-In Book (aka 'das Buch')

The Bimmerfest European Delivery Sign in book, also known as 'das buch' is a long standing tradition started by Bimmerfest members when European deliveries were still done at the old Freimann facility. With the opening of The Welt I decided that a nice hardbound book was in order to start the tradition anew at the Welt.

Of course, since I was the first customer to take delivery of a new car at the Welt, I was also the first person to sign the book. Beewang was the second person to sign the book.

By and large, the Welt's staff were new to European Delivery (the only person who moved over from Freimann, AFAIK, was Bernhard Hausmaninger) so I explained to them what Bimmerfest was etc. and they immediately placed my book in a place of honor at the point of where people stop upon entering the area adjacent to the Premium Lounge.

Upon arriving at the Premium Lounge, Bimmerfest members should simply sign das Buch in whatever manner they deem appropriate. If for some reason das Buch is not immediately visible, I'm sure that one of the friendly staff members will be happy to locate it.

it's about time!! the old one is almost full.

way coool...I will spend the next 3 weeks composing what i will write in "the book". Can't wait!

That is TBD. Will know on the 23rd, most likely, not earlier.

I recommend it be placed in a argon sealed case and the pages turned once a week by the curator wearing latex gloves, just like the Book of Kells.

Not even close man. I was like #6 and that was back on October 2007. I think you will be up there in the 100's.

Where is the book located?

Its at the counter when you walk into the reception area.

My wife loves books... this might be just the ticket to finally allow me to enjoy my "M3 Dream".... actually it's looking more like a 335i in a year or two.

We have already had over 225 deliveries at the Welt and I would imagine the majority of people have signed so yes, it´s in the upper 100s or low 200s by now.
