style #69 rim for X3

Hi,
I am new here, so this question might be asked before. Sorry!
I have a 2008 X3si with sports package and can get a set of OEM Style #69 rims. I thought I could use them for winter tires. Does anybody know if they fit?
Thanks
Tomec

X5 style 69 (see attached photo) are 8.5 x 18 wheels with a 48mm offset.

I think they WILL fit an E83 X3, but with some caveats:
-- They are wider and, with just a mm more offset (47 to 48) they are going to be closer to rubbing on both sides. I don't think this should be a problem.
-- Therefore, you will not want to get crazy with tire width. And, since you are looking at them for winter, you probably don't want to go wide anyway. An X5 tire (255/55R-18 would be stock) would not be a good idea, although Mystic1 managed to stuff a set under his X3 with minor rubbing. I would think a 235/50R-18 (stock 18 for the X3) should be fine on an 8.5" rim and you've got some choices in winter rubber in that size.
-- X5 wheels tend to be heavy. You will probably not be trying to set a new record around the 'Ring with your winter tires, so it may not be too important.

Finally, I owe the forum an apology: I previously said that X5 E70 wheels could be used on the X3, but not E53 wheels. I *thought* that the E53 used E39 5er offsets, which are down in the 20s, i.e., varying an inch from the X3. At my age, remembering such facts is very, very dangerous and I failed to double-check. I will try to do better.

At the risk of repetition repitition, an excellent source of facts on BMW wheels:

Those should work for you. The stock 113's (18") on our X3 have a 46 mm offset, and I was able to go to an X5 style 99 (18") with a 40 mm offset. Yes, I did stuff the 255 55R18's in there, but don't follow my lead (although it has slowed my wife down a bit which is a good thing). I wouldn't go with a winter tire any taller/wider than stock 18's as you really want a narrower winter tire rather than a wider one. I just couldn't pass up the set I got for $450. We will probably get stock size winter tires next season.
