2004 seat memory function
ok I have a 04 li with the ventilated seats / and sunshade options. I have 2 questions.
1) Using the primary key fob (my remote), if my wife drives vehicle and manually activates her seat memory button #2 , the next time I use the key to enter the vehicle the seat will not go back to seat memory #1. I was under the impression that the seat when programmed with the remote in the ignition would recognize it when unlocking the vehicle. So when i get back in the car after she uses it i have to reach across the seat and press button #1 so I can get in. What am I missing? 2) Sometimes when I get into the vehicle and put the key in the ignition the steering wheel will not go to the memorized position, I have to push and hold the seat memory button to get the steering wheel to come down and telescope to the memorized position. the way it works for me is about the same; car key fob will always return the seat adjustment/steering wheel to the last setup when key was last used.

No its not that, its just more fulfilling to help someone who has at least attempted to help themselves first ... (even if that means they have screwed somethingup)

WOW!
Not one constructive comment. Are you guys for real, what is the propose for these fourms if not to help people out. I have read to owners manual when I first purchased the vehicle and since my wife rarely drives the vehicle I never noticed this issue much. But over the course of the past couple of weeks she has been taking the car on the weekends and when I hop in to go to the office I noticed this issue. Sorry for asking the questions, I will go dig out the manual and look it up, I do not keep the owners manual in my night stand like the holy bible, nor have I committed it to memory, sorry. I thought this forum was by nature designed to offer input and share knowledge in a helpfull environment. You guys keep flaming everyone that ask questions and these forums will truley become useless.

i think rafa has it right, i believe the car automatically remembers the last memory setting and stores it in the jkey being used. i would advise getting a 2nd key or save the $150 and just have the old lady hit memory#1 before she gets out. it would be a good idea to have a spare fob though.
