Aero Package

Anyone know the dealer cost to install the Aero kit on a new 335i coupe? I know the kit itself is listed at $1,195 but the installation/painting is not included. Thanks.

Best way...order from Tischer BMW (Mileone.com) it's $850 for the kit. Then get it painted and installed and painted at your dealer!

Personally, I was thinking about the kit...I don't really like the rear bumper though...I think I might just go with the front lip...

You can have the kit installed at VPC, PDC, the dealer or DIY. The first 3 options are ordered with the car and cost +/- $1,000 for painting and installation.

I'm doing PCD and was quoted $2700 for the whole thing. I have a friend that works in the area as a service manager and he's going to do it for $2k out the door, so I'd guess cost would be around $1500?

Actually, I think you can have the package factory installed. However, it does cost about $2,600. I looked at buying an E90 and it was roughly $2,550 for the factory installed kit - also about the same price if I had the dealer do it. I agree with others here though - If you can find it cheaper online and piecemeal it together, you're probably going to save a lot of money.

I don't know what the dealer cost of the aero kit is, but I am taking ED of a 335i coupe on July 5th and I am purchasing the aero package. I was quoted $1695 + tax for the kit, paint and installation at the port upon arrival of the car from Europe.

It is my understanding that the aero kit, when purchased in conjunction with a new car order for US spec cars cannot be installed at the factory in Germany, but only at the port or dealership. Therefore, I get to drive around Europe for 2 weeks then get a new front and rear end when the car gets to the States.

That's exactly what I was thinking...ED then install at the port. It does look like there's a pretty large difference in prices though. $1695 sounds like a good deal since the kit itself is listed at $1195 which means only $500 for paint/install...don't think I'd spring for the upper limit some are quoting though. Thanks all for your inputs.

I bought my kit the about two weeks after I got the car, it was a little over 1200 and the dealer wanted 1k to put it on and paint it. I thought I might wait to put it on until I finish my mods and wheels and tires. I don't like the little wing thing on the trunk lid and I'm looking to get rid of it and get another aftermarket spoiler. Find a body shop that one of your friends owns and that way you can visit your car while it's being done.

My apologies. In response to a forum member's question, I re-read my email quote and the $1,695 + tax is for paint and installation only. So the total cost is $1,195 for the kit, plus $1,695 & tax for paint and install for total cost of $2,890. Of course, this price has yet to be negotiated.

I'm having mine done today. I'll try to get picks up this weekend if I get back in town in time to pick up the car. Otherwise it will be early next week.

Phew...that makes my $2k look better, thanks

I was kicking around the idea of stopping by Tischer on my way back from PCD, but after looking at their prices it's looking like a wash at $2k anyways (planning on getting the spoiler too).

I had it done last year at the port. I think the paint process is better there than any other random paint shop. anyway, it looks awesome, best upgrade better than wheels , for the rear it breaks up that solid formed bumper alot. and the front, it opens like a mouth that drops down, it think better than the M because the M is too big of a mouth opening. the side shirts shows some improvemnt but not alot. it really brings out the exhaust tips in the back and the contrast of the black area with a light colored car, anything then black really sets it off. it uncommon and your car defintely stands out nicely. i would suggest having it done at port if you can otherwise find a good shop that will bake the paint and not rush the job.

Is it a whole rear bumper or just some type of insert? I already have damage to the rear bumper from someone backing into me and the front bumper from stones so this might be a good upgrade. The quote to fix my paint front and back was $900 so i might as well just double it and get the new parts.

I got the Aero kit done before taking delivery and it was $2,700.00 total in 3/30/07. This also included painted mudflaps. Agree on the rear end, I wish I had left the stock body work on. I did not install a spoiler. The mudflaps blend very well and certainly cut down on the crud.

The front looks great and does not look like the M3. I am not a poser.

It's two pieces, right? So perhaps the inner one could be painted a different color...?
