528e Tranny Swap,

Hey My tranny is bad on my 1988 528e and was given a 1985 740, how would i go about finding out if the tranny's are interchangable. Otherwise if you have a tranny for sale that would fit in the 528 let me know thanks.

well, if it is a 1985 7 series it isn't a 740. Its either a 735 or a 745 which is the turbocharged version of the 735 (same engine size). These engines are from a different family (M30) to your engine which is an M20. ot is the same engine (and transmission) found in the 325e/i.
