Funky: 4x4 and amber "Brake" Lights Stay On

Yesterday I popped out of DSC (held the button for a while) on my '07 E83 for some sporty driving. It did fine as usual but after I re-depressed the DSC button to toggle back to normal mode:

The 4x4 light stayed on and the "brake" light usually in red for the hand brake came on in amber. Never happened before. I parked, gave it a pause, and re-started. Same thing - the lights came on and the e-brake was definitely off.

I went into a store and came out 10 minutes later, started it and it was fine.

Any ideas?

I remember doing the same as you, if I remember correctly, I had to open and close the door for the light to go off.

I had the same thing with those lights staying on for a while and then going away after stopping and restarting few mins later. Got mine back from the shop today in fact. They said it was some kind of actuator on the CAM shaft that they have now replaced. haven't seen it since I got it back - but I've only driven it 5 miles.

I'd take it in just to be safe.

Probably just an electronic hiccup. It means xDrive and DBC have failed.

Once, I started the car to find that DSC, ABS, xDrive, and DBC+EBV had all failed. I drove a bit, turn the car off, locked the car, waited 30secs, unlocked and restarted. All was fine.
