Door Lock Issue / Door wont open

Hello. Have searched the boards for two days, without finding an answer to this specific question, so here goes. I have a 98 328I. The left passenger door lock has been showing out for a while - it will sometimes lock with the key, sometimes not.

Well, this past weekend the LPD shut, and I cannot get it to open from either the inside or the outside. Have tried undoing battery, left it off all night, but that door is still shut. I have been able to take the panel off, and moving the locking mechanism does nothing - that door is still locked. I dont know if it is a seized-up actuator, or if I have other issues. Does anyone have any ideas? How can I get that actuator off, if I can only remove 1 of the torx screws. Any help would be get appreciated.

Thanks!

I had a similar problem, which turned out to be a sticky microswitch. I eventually managed to unlock and open the door by cycling the remote to lock and unlock about 25 times. When you get the door open, spray electrical contact cleaner into the striker mechanism in the door (the microswitch is toward the outside edge of the door), then try cycling a few times with the remote. Mine freed up straight away and I haven't had any problem with it since.
