CD Player problem! code?

The radio to my 325is 1992 alpine 2 cd player is working but the cd player is not, the computer doesnt say it wants a code either.

The magazine is in the cartridge full with 6 cd's yet it says "no disc" or "error"

does this mean i have a bad fuse and where do i type in the code if it could be the code even though the radio works!

i want the cd player to work.

is there no power going to it?

zunit,

My personal opinion is that you should have the lens checked. I think that when they go, they don't read CD's anymore.

Please don't take my opinion as the 100%, stick around and wait for more people with more experiance to check out the problem.

Good luck!

lens..

yeah that seems like it could be part of it maybe, because before it just all of a sudden didnt work it wouldnt play the CD 25% of the time.... but the thing that doesnt make sense is that it wont even eject?!

well gonna take a stab at the obvious...are the CD's facing the right way? also, are they MP3 or just regular plain CDs? i know some radios wont play MP3 formated...but like, it would have to be a reeeeeeeeeeeeeally old CD player. now a days pretty much all head units read MP3 format...but some might not. i dunno..just trying to eliminate the obvious

nope, they are regular cd's, why does bmw have to make such awful cd players in their earlier models!

I would love to listen to the cd's that are in the magazine but i can't even take that out because i dont want to break the cd player in the process, do you agree the simple solution to all this would be to get an ipod for my car or????????

Hardly. You can get decent basic ones for around $100. You will pa more for extra features you may or may not ever use.

I have 99 BMW, single cd player. CD was playing fine. One day my brother-in-law inserted MP3 cd and ever since it does not play regular cd. Everytime I insert cd, it says CD Error and then it ejects. Before mp3 cd was inserted, it was playing fine, had no problem. What do i need to do? thanks.
