Good Bye Speed Limiter

My dealer has the new Dinan software waiting for me. Going this week Thursday or Friday to get it downloaded. Hope to get the BMW updates from whatever Version I have now to the 27 version before they load the Dinan Performance Software. Talk about excited, good Christmas present to me!!!!!

In case anyone is interested, I got the Dinan performance software installed as well as the latest version of the BMW software- 27 . I Drive is quicker, has more definition, different colors ( I am color blind so only can tell that they appear different).
As far as the Dinan, I have not had it on the road enough to fully evaluate it. However, did put it in M mode and level 5 for a quick jaunt.

It gets Jiggy wid it!
Hope to check out the speed limiter removal as soon as the time is right.


By the way, I can tell you why the dealer is not just jumping for joy to upgrade your software just for the heck of it. The full download takes about ten hours. That ties up a bay for quite awhile no doubt. And sometimes it does not install completely the first pass and then you have to start all over. Which happened on mine.

Downloading the software takes 10 hours or downloading, installing, testing, etc. takes 10 hours.

hi fellow member, keep us posted. let us know if you feel more power. with the dinan up grade .. i too am thinking about it. are you re placing your throttle body? i am asking because if you are dinan has made another upgrade chip. i am thinking of doing it soon, at century bmw dealer. just the govnernor removal... i am waiting for the next generation m6. rumor has it it may be an v10 with twin turbo...

Your car will currently do 155 mph.

Your speed limit in your state is probably 70 mph or 75 mph.

You are paying someone to remove a 155 mph limiter.

Or am I missing something?

Question is. Can it keep us with the Nissan GT-R. I know what the hell are you talking about dude? I wanted my next car to be either an M5 or M6 or a 911 Carrera S. Now with the GT-R going for a little over 70k and blowing away Z06 Vetts and Porsche turbos at the track by a lot my decision got a lot tougher.
