NAvigation Questions for 2008 750

OK, so I have had my car about 2 months. The navigation system, as pointed out by many, is pretty poor compared to others. My questions are, if I am NOT in in Route Guidance mode, is there a way to display what street you are currently on? Next, is there a way for the system to beep or ping you when it is time for a turn. The systems I have had in a Lincoln, Infiniti and Lexus all do the above. I am hoping I am not missing something. Yes the BMW drives better than them all, BUT, I am hoping to find some help with the NAV.

Not sure about the street name but you can turn on a voice prompt to warn you of impending turns (see the Owners Manual - it is your friend). There is no beep, ping, bong, gong or other warning, just the voice prompt.

Ditto, you need to click on the audio icon in NAV mode to turn it from gray to orange.

Agreed, BMW's NAV leaves alot to be desired, but it does always get me to where I need to go.

just click on the SVS button and say "map"

that does it for me!

What does this do? Bring up the map or tell what street you are on ?

I'll try it tonight on my drive home.

Yes sir, It shows you what street you are on, what direction, and all that great stuff.

My English must be real bad. When I pressed the SVS button and said "map", it didn't change sh't.
