Just got car back from the dealer

They installed a bunch parts for the speaker problems i was having. They put new subs, amp, bladder parts for the seats, and a fan unit in the trunk above the nav and amp anyone ever had a fan put in? Do the newer sevens have them in already any input would be great.

My amp is broken at the moment.

The front speakers are also broken. So, I can't hear the BMW 'dong'
The center speakers, subs, and rear speakers are still working, altough the rear speakers aren't 100% anymore...

The heat in the compartment where the amp, navi, video processor and phone is, gets really, really hot. I didn't got the chance to measure it. But I'm pretty sure the temperature of the hardware exceeds 160 fahrenheit from time to time, and yes, that is really bad and the reason why it breaks down.

Lappy does your 7 have a fan above the nav, amp, ? Your speakers not working and no dong sound indicates the ask module has failed.

Nope, I don't have an extra fan.

Bummer for BMW that also the ASK module is faulty.

My fan failed 2 weeks ago which caused my new L7 amp to overheat and blow which caused all kinds of hell. NAV was out No stereo, Crackling from front speakers etc..... Had the fan replaced and new amp and it's like new

Im takin mine in to be fixed soon. I am down to one speaker, the drivers side door. None of the subs nor any of my Logic 7 settings are working. I am going to request that a fan be put in after they fix it. Thanks for the info.

Do yourself a favor make sure you store NOTHING in that compartment where the AMP is, I had a towel folded up and a thing of leather wipes a long time ago in there and they actually made note of it from a service I had done. They mentioned it when i picked the car up and said if you store anything in there they don't have to replace it under warranty if they can make a case that it blocked air flow or leaked anything out to cause damage.

Do the 02/03 7 have a fan in that compartment or was that introduced in 04 can anyone confirm?
