Bluetooth 2003 745li

I have read online about the CPT9000BT and I have not found anywhere that it can be paired with a Sprint phone. I am looking to add the bluetooth function to my 2003 745li and before I buy it, will it work? I would appreciate any feedback. Phone is a Blackberry if that makes any difference.

Thanks,

Justin

It isn't so much the carrier that matters as the type of phone, and there are several different phone models besides the ones listed in the literature for the CPT9000 that will work, just with varying different levels of functionality. My Treo works for example for making and receiving calls as has been tested by many people, but the phonebook is inaccesible.

Odds are it will work just fine.

As I understand it the CPT9000 is a mobile phone, not a bluetooth adaptor. The CPT9000 is no longer supported by any Canadian carriers, don't know about the US. The Bluetooth Ubgrade Module (BTUM), fits in the same place as the opriginal phone, and I know from experience that it works with a Blackberry Pearl and an Apple iPhone 3G. I would think you should be able to find a BTUM on eBay.

He meant the Bluetooth module for the CPT9000 series phone cradle.

It varies. Some '03s (like my old one) need the 8000, but most were upgraded to the 9000.

playdrive is right. you need to know the production date for your car. I think if it was produced before Jan of 03 than u need the 8000. if after then the 9000.

Yes you should be able to use the built in phone key-pad in the dash...which will be usable with any phone that is paired to the car's BT.

As long as there is a phone paired to the car's BT system, with the 3 green lights lit up on the top right hand corner on the I-Drive Screen, along with the name of your phone on the left right beside it...you are good to go and use that built in-key-pad or even the voice commands through the telephone sub-menu (most of the commands can be found in the OM)

HERE are link(s) that might help you further:

Good luck bud

production dates from 1-03 to (who cares since yours is an 03) use the 9000. You have to make sure it wasnt produced in oct,nov or dec of 02. If it was than you need the 8000. btw, i just got the 9000 and it instlled in 30 seconds. The phone book sucks though.
You can program the voice activated part of it but it is a pain to do. The phone pad on your dash will work to place calls when your phone is linked via the bluetooth. Having always used the phone while I am driving I feel like a dork talking into the roof of the car....
