clutch stop?

i was looking over on bimmerforums and someone had mentioned a clutch stop. what are the pros and cons of doing this?

Pro's: "Quicker shifts", less play in you clutch, cheap diy mod.

hm...so i just put a block of some sort behind my clutch peddle?

A clutch stop should be adjustable so you can eliminate the dead travel but allow the clutch to fully engage/disengage.

So, no, a block of wood prolly wont work

^^+1^^ Youll need a carriage bolt and some lock nuts and some fender washers and some way to put it through the floor... just look up some diy's I wish I knew more but seein how my truck's clutch engages near the floor I've never bothered... lol

so you're saying i cannot put a log under the clutch peddle?

Who says a block of wood isn't adjustable? If there's not enough play shave a layer off your block, if too much play get a bigger block of wood.

haha. true true.

it's true, they exist...keeps from over disengaging the clutch. I don't see them much anymore though.

Good for performance driving. Crazy city driving with steep hills? Not so much fun anymore. Especially if you are in the wet with an E30.

In everyday driving I like a good amount of travel.
