yep, its the whole kit. comes prepackaged in a box with that P/N on it. i do find it amusing that the ETK has a picture of the box the kit comes in....

when i got mine, there was only 1 kit in the states. i wonder if BMW AG is trying to figure out why there's been a sudden run on spare tires

Flying Monkey Herder: This is great information you've posted regarding the compact spare tire. The only thing holding me back in buying non-run flat tires and the compact spare is how much space it takes up in the trunk. Do you have the diameter and height of the spare tire...any information is appreciated? When we take trips, we carry some non-foldable bulky stuff so space can become an issue. Thanks for any information in advance.

Thanks for the reply. I went out to the car and measured 25.5" x 5." The compact spare tire size is a deal breaker for me...I wish it weren't so. It just takes up too much trunk space. Thanks again. dale512

Any idea of the kit weight?

Never mind - I calculated it at about 28 lbs.

just got my confirmation that it is shipped. ordered it about 4 weeks ago.

My shipping confirmation from Tischer came today as well. Ordered it around the same time as you. $270 shipped. Definitely cheaper than the alternative. Next step: lose the RFTs.

well, trial by fire boys. I'm in buffalo NY this weekend and got a sidewall puncture of a rear rft tire 30 miles from my destination. ( i cracked another 19" rim earlier, so i'm having a very bad tire week.)
none of the local tire shops have anything close to even a regular tire in 255/35/18, so i'm going to have to drive home on the spare. 400 miles back to NYC. its going to suck keeping the speed down. the angry yellow warning label has 50mph listed, but checking the sidewall of the tire has it rated M or 81mph. going to see if i can limp back at 65-70mph. i do not recommend anyone else exceed the listed speed limit on the rim however.


BTW, check the tire pressure in your spare when you get it. it should be at 60psi. i found out today that mine was only at 45.

that sucks! lets us know how it performs as mine is on the way. this example is why i am switching to go flats as it would be easier to find the tire that you need!!

well, i drove around on it all weekend, probably put about 300 miles on it.
this morning i was able to find a shop that had a potenza RE760 non-runflat tire in the right size so i had them mount it up. i was going to try to drive back from buffalo with the donut, but was a little wary of driving non stop at highway speeds on it. 147 for the tire, and i got a front sized tire (i had blown a rear) so i can use it as a spare front or rear.

the donut spare worked admirably, as long as you kept in mind that it was a donut and drove more conservatively. ended up visiting all the places i was going to, minimal interruption to my trip, and it held me over untill i could find a suitable tire. most of the trips were short, in town trips, a few 30-50 mile ones though

interestingly, the dealer i got the tire from, even though it was a runflat certified bridgestone shop, didnt have either the 225/40 or the 255/35 runflat in stock.

i dont think the runflat tire would have gotten me through the weekend with all the driving i did.

The runflats made my drive today down the GSP in NJ unbearable; will this kit fit a non-sport package 16" 325? I'm going deaf from turning up the stereo.....

yes, it should. the rolling diameter is the same regardless of rim size.

Are there any TPMS concerns? Don't see any reason why there would be.

you have an 06, which uses the indirect FTM method. i'm not sure if you can/should reinit the tpm system when using the donut.

when i drove around with it all weekend, i had the angry flat tire warning message on, as the spare tire does not have a pressure sensor in it ( post 3/07 E90s have sensor based direct pressure monitoring)

Thanks. Assuming I don't ever use the spare, the 4 standard tires won't screw up the TPM, will it???

nope, not at all

the FTM and TPMS systems dont care what kind of tire you have mounted

FTM is looking at wheel rotations and a difference between two tires on the same axle. TPMS is looking at internal tire pressure.

I have owned my2008 335i Coupe for 2 weeks now...........7 days after purchase, I got a puncture in the front passenger side tire. Not impressed! With a price tag of $475 CND to replace, I'm looking at alternatives for the RFT.

It would be great to get confirmation from a forum member that the kit fits a 2008 335i Coupe with the Sports Package. Based on everything you have done, it should fit. I would like to be 100% sure before I order and have this kit shipped North to Vancouver, BC.

I have an 2008 335i with the sport package / 18 inch staggered tires. I got the kit spare today, it fits perfectly flush for the rear wheels. It matches the front without touching the brakes, too (maybe there is like 1 mm at most between the them, but that doesn't matter). My only concern is that when installed in front, there are about 5 mm left between the steel wheel and the ?rotor part where the screws go in. i wonder if a spacer is still afterall necessary to reduce the forces on the screws... not sure though, it just doesn't look that kosher in front as compared with the rear...

5mm between the hub and the wheel? 5mm is quite a bit, when i tested it on the front, the spare bottomed its back face against the hub

the wheel should be centered on the hub, and the wheel should bottom against the hub around the lug bolts.

are you saying the wheel doesnt press against the hub on your car?

i'll investigate this tomorrow as i'm going to be putting new wheels on, but i'm not sure what you are referring to. a spacer would only move the same mating surface out further. I have a set of 15mm spacers for my old summer wheels and literally, its the face of the hub extended 15mm, there's nothing that would allow more contact with the hub face.the rim would bottom against the caliper if anything. the chamfer on the front and rear wheels is the same.

Just to clarify......the wheel fits perfectly onto the bolts, flush to the hub? And there is 5mm gap between the wheel and the brake caliper/rotor.

or

the wheels fits onto the bolts with a 5mm space to the hub and 1mm gap between the brake caliper/rotor.

As the standard sports rims are 4 identical 18" rims, I would have expected that if the spare fit perfectly on the bolts/hub on the rear.....the only issue on the front should have been clearance for the caliper/rotor. The fit of the bolts/hub should be the same as the rear.

Basically, after i screwed-in 4 out of 5 screws, i was able to put a finger through the 5th hole and feel the hub on one side and the wheel on the other one. I'll have to do the whole operation again today because on the rear i didn't remember seeing such a gap. But what do I know, maybe I'm getting demented. I'll take pics this time.
