Considering the car is 30 years old, what have you done already?

Generally the Control arms, brakes, wheel bearings, tie rods, shocks and anything I havent mentioned are pretty worn.

Put some effort into your question.

New rotors, new control arms, upgraded to 1983 steering rack with new bushings, and new steering shaft. I am also getting a rattle into the steering column whenever the front wheels hit a bump.

I may go back to the 78 rack and rebuild it with a new damper. Is there an easier fix?

There is a guibo in the stearing linkage. Id think of that with a stearing column shake, or a mounting bolt is loose somewhere.

I have just replaced my lower control amrs and the took care of my shimmy.

Thanks for the input, I am going to remove the steering column and look for guibos, and replace my control arm and sway bar bushings.
