A late introduction by a Z3 2002 owner.

Hello,
I am going to relegate myself to the z3 forums but still I never did get around to formally introducing myself.

I've owned a BMW Z3 2002 3.0 since this summer. It's a nice shiny black and it I can finally drive shift (I was the guy at homecoming that didn't know how to and ended up getting quizzed and shown at dinner).

Anyway, it's doing great. Except it got hit by a jerk on halloween that did 7,000 dollars worth of damage and ran away.

But after Geico fixed it, it looks even better.

Except I cracked the back window by opening up the top in 15 degree weather.

That has to be fixed now.

Sigh.

I worked my way up to it. You put on a pair of wool-lined gloves, a nice thinsulate hat, put the seat heat on high, and the heat all the way up.

On a crisp winter night with the stars and moon out, it is lovely.

Mind you, I haven't opened the top since then. Plus, this is only my second car after about 15 years with a Geo Prizm, so perhaps I'm overcompensating.

I've already installed another window and bought a protective window cover....unfortunately I've also learned that cleaning the new window with a paper towel will leave fine scratches. Still, I can see much better now and I learned more about my car.
