My First...Not My Last
Hello everyone! I finally purchased my very first BMW. Its a 97' 740iL black on black and I am very excited. I have owned a Audi A6 4.2 a couple years ago. But this car here has been a dream of mine.
I just want to say thank you in advance to all the members on this forum. I have one distinct problem with my newly used BMW. The gear shift console light takes a while to go out and there is a buzzing coming from the driver door speaker as well as the heat/ac control area. I did a google search and it lead me to this website. So here I am looking forward to being a proud and participating member. Again Thanks To Everyone!!!!!! |

Hey Payback
Welcome. Don't know about the console light or the speaker buzz, but the buss behind the radio and temp control is very normal for older 7 series. Not sure about the new ones. I have had a 88 735i for twenty years and it has buzzed very time its shut down. I've been told on many occasions that it's electronic stuff shutting down. My 06 3 series coupe doesn't make any noise most of the time, but once in awhile I notice a hum after turning off the motor. Same reason I'm sure. Good luck. |

Thanks for the welcome LGord. I will be doing some trouble shooting for the speaaker buzz. I think I will start by disconnecting the amplifier abd going from there.
