The winter season is here and it is time to make sure your car is in shape for the coming months. The following are some links and tips for making sure you are ready for the snowy and icy conditions that make us all look foward to warm weather agin. Feel free to reply with your own suggestions to help make this a safe winter season for all the BMW owners out there!

Looking for a set of new wheels/tires or replacement set of tires for the winter season?

It always pays to shop around for your winter wheel and tire needs but we are typically hard pressed to find a better deal than those provided from TireRack.

You can find more helpful information on winter tires from our friendly Tire Rack moderator at the following link:

Information on understanding the new Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) systems can be found here:

Search for Winter Tires for your BMW on TireRack.com

Can't find your answer at those links? Post your question for people like Gary@TireRack to give you feedback on in Tire Rack's Tires, Wheels, Brakes & Suspension forum here:

For those who already have a set of winter wheels and tires

If you do not have the tires mounted on your car...go get it done so you do not get stuck out in the middle of a surprise storm. Those summer tires are not what you want on your car when trying to make it home from work if a storm hits!

Make sure you check your tire pressures on those winter tires; you can lose up to 5psi of pressure from summer to winter months and it can have a huge impact on the tires. If you are lucky enough to have your car parked in an attached or heated garage, be aware that you will lose air pressure when transitioning to the outdoors. According to TireRack.com, you should add 1 psi of "cold" tire pressure to compensate for each 10 degree temperature difference!

Happy Holidays and good luck with winter season!

UPDATE - Check out the winter clearance sale the www.TireRack.com is having -

Clearance pricing on a great selection of wheels makes it the perfect time to update your vehicle or to create a Tire & Wheel Package for spring. Affordable options for a Winter / Snow Tire & Wheel Package are available, too! Select styles and applications. Clearance prices effective through February 28, 2009.
