Map/Directions from PC to BMW Nav
Read in a recent issue of Roundel that 2009 BMW models with Nav have the ability to receive Map/Directions from a PC. There was no real detail in the article, and my '09 Manual has no information on this feature.
Anybody know how to do this? Tx, ANDREW |

If you have BMWAssist set up then you can send addresses and phone numbers from Google Maps. This can then be used with your bluetooth phone or Navigation. I have not seen the feature you are talking about in my X6.

does anyone know about any new features offered for my 2003 X5 4.6....I have the older version of the tv tuner and I spliced in a single disk dvd player that works thru the aux.....because i was limited with ports, I purchased the denision ipod player and installed that in place of my cd changer. I also had to install the portable sirius player because the bmw bluetooth used that port....so, I was hopng someone could give me some updated advise on if there are newer products out there that would enhance the current configuration I have. so, just to recap, here are the OEM products I installed (and plug and play products) in my car.
* OEM TV Tuner * Single Disc DVD Player (located in the back above the Navigation Module * Reverse Camera (works thru the TV Tuner * Denision Ipod Device....(plugged in via OEM in place of the 10 disc CD Changer (can't seem to get it to work thru the nav screen....i can only use the controls on the steering wheel to go to the next song * Sirius Satellite Radio - This is the portable player that just plugs into the cigarette lighter and works thru the radio station ..(Is there a better option to install this so it's imbedded) * BMW Bluetooth - syncs with my iPhone but I can not find the cradle attachment that locks in underneath the armrest and charges....also, it does not support text messages...just the phonebook I would love to be able to install a 10 disk dvd player....be able to have my ipod integrated within my nav screen where it shows the albumn art and playlist, have a better way to connect my sirius and if any has heard of a device that will be able to access both ATSC and NTCS for my TV Tuner.......and the lat thing is can anyone recommend the best type of radar detector (laser) that can integrate via OEM in the bmw..... any advise would be greatly appreciated.....Dean dcpapa@gmail.com Last edited by hadooj; 01-31-2009 at 01:31 PM. Reason: can this be moved to the X5 section...I mistakenly put this in the X6 by mistake |

It's fairly straight forward. Do a search in google maps, "send" it, then fill out some additional information. You also need to have an e-mail account that has been associated with your BMW Assist account. Here's an example of what the box looks like that you fill in. This box comes up after you do "Search Maps" in Google and then hit the "Send" link. After you complete the information and hit "Send" in this box, the information is sent to your car.
